Great Wall V200 recall - 9000 diesel utes affected

More than 9000 diesel-powered Great Wall V200 utilities have been recalled due to a fault that could cause the wiring harness to melt. Ateco Automotive, the Australian distributor for the Chinese brand, is recalling 9134 Great Wall V200 utes built between June 2011 and April 2013 powered by the 105kW/310Nm 2.0-litre four-cylinder turbo-diesel engine. Gene therapy 'could be used to treat blindness'

Surgeons in Oxford have used a gene therapy technique to improve the vision of six patients who would otherwise have gone blind. The operation involved inserting a gene into the eye, a treatment that revived light-detecting cells. Russian teen believed to have developed software used in Target breach

A 17-year-old Russian boy is believed to be the main developer of the malicious software responsible for allowing hackers to steal credit card numbers and personal data of approximately 70 million Target customers over the holiday shopping season. France to extradite Kazakh tycoon Mukhtar Ablyazov

A French court has ruled that Kazakh tycoon and dissident Mukhtar Ablyazov should be extradited to Russia or Ukraine to face fraud charges. He is accused of stealing billions of dollars from the Kazakh BTA Bank, which also operates in Russia and Ukraine. The court said Russia should take priority. Panama Canal dispute: Spain in talks to resolve row
