Ukraine unrest: EU and US clash with Russia in Munich

Amanda Knox and Raffaele Sollecito guilty of Kercher Italy murder

A court in Italy has reinstated the guilty verdicts against Amanda Knox and Raffaele Sollecito for the murder of UK student Meredith Kercher in 2007. UN mediator Lakhdar Brahimi has said he does not expect to achieve "anything substantive" in the first round of Syria talks before they end on Friday. Police disable 'crude attempts' at explosive devices after 3 die, including gunman, in Maryland mall shooting

A gunman fatally shot two people at a shopping mall in suburban Baltimore before taking his own life, authorities said Saturday.  Howard County (Md.) American Kenneth Bae 'admits' crime, calls on US to help free him from North Korea

In a videotaped "press conference" experts believe was almost certainly given under duress, American missionary Kenneth Bae confessed to committing crimes against North Korea and appealed to the U.S. to help free him. France to extradite Kazakh tycoon Mukhtar Ablyazov

A French court has ruled that Kazakh tycoon and dissident Mukhtar Ablyazov should be extradited to Russia or Ukraine to face fraud charges. He is accused of stealing billions of dollars from the Kazakh BTA Bank, which also operates in Russia and Ukraine. The court said Russia should take priority. Iraq conflict: Sunni fighters 'control all of Fallujah'

The Iraq government has lost control of the strategic city of Fallujah, west of Baghdad, say officials and witnesses. Cairo al-Azhar campus torched amid Egypt protests

A student has been killed in Egypt as supporters of the Islamist Muslim Brotherhood clashed with police and university buildings were set on fire.
