Ashes 2013-14: England facing annihilation - Geoffrey Boycott

England are facing "annihilation" in the Ashes because they lack the "desire and heart" to compete with Australia, says former batsman Geoffrey Boycott. Boycott believes England's "glory days" are over after they lost by 218 runs in Adelaide to go 2-0 down in the series. "We have won three series comfortably, but we are going to get annihilated in this one," he told BBC Sport. He added the minds of the team were "not right"... [read news]

Ricky Walden says his run to the 2013 World Championship semi-finals has given him the maturity, mental strength and belief to mix with snooker's elite. The world number 12, who plays Mark Selby for a UK Championship final place on Saturday, lost 17-14 to Barry Hawkins at the Crucible in May. Despite mixed results since, Walden, 31, said he is in a good place. "I take lots of heart from the Worlds," he told BBC Sport. "It... [read news]
